Default Model "A" mechanic near Howell Mich

Does anyone know of a good shop or mechanic near Howell Mich. that might be willing to work on my "A"? My health prevents me from doing much more than light "tinkering", with my old cars. I also just downsized into a Condo with only a 2 car garage. The car runs great, it just leaks oil like crazy. I had the oil pan off twice to check the rear main clearance, and oil tube, no problems there. The leak seems to be getting worse. The center main needs adjusting,(knocks) for 3-4 seconds on start up. Trans and rear axle are also leaking. It may be the gasket between the block and flywheel that is bad.

My advice is also to contact the local A club. There are some very knowledgable guys in that club. Wayne

I know quite a few of the Livingston A,s , and have asked them all the same question. Two offered to come and help me at my house. I just moved into a condo, and pulling the engine here is out of the question(against the rules). My car must be fixed some where outside of the subdivision. I could help, but can't do it all myself.

have you checked the various Model "A" businesses under the sticky list at the top of this Model "A" blog? I realize that most of the entries are specialized parts suppliers but there are some general repair services there; plus the MARC magazine routinely has ads for shops that offer partial restorations.

I realize your dilemma, the condo association doesn't want your area to look like a car repair shop from the 1930s, which is essentially what you (and many of us) want. My guess might be you will end up having to transport the car to some other area not as close to your residence as you wish.....
