Mat Installation
I'm sure this is so simple, but thought I'd ask. I have a '28 Sport Coupe. I just bought a front mat and a rumble seat mat. I've seen fasteners, but do I need them? I would think I just lay the mat down and go on with life? I hear that shifter and e-brake boots aren't stock? I want to control some of the summer heat.

Re: Mat Installation
Ford just had the studs on the floor to hold the four corners down. The mats had holes that aligned with the studs and the rubber stretched around the larger diameter top portion of the stud. The studs are available in reproduction if you want them. Most early Sport Coupes had carpet.

Re: Mat Installation
In my coupe the front mat is just laid in and have no issues. Big help heat wise for me was the felt pad and metal plates that go around the steering column and peddles. Can be bought from any of the main part suppliers.

Mine has a 'birth-date' of 08/22/28 so I am assuming it's not early? Correct? |
