I've owned many AA's and seen a few in my days but never seen one with a 2sp shift lever like this one in pix....it has a pivot bracket w/part number mounted on the crossmember and comes up to the left of the trans shifter.....has a round knobb like the trans shifter...mounted with bolts with castel nuts...don't think it's shop made sense it has part numbers....

Re: 1929 Model AA 2speed lever
Sounds to me like the 1929 AA dual high transmission. If you posted a photo I could not see it, but the dual high was a common unit in 1929 AA trucks.

I set my camera on the second lowest setting. I can post with dial up connection. It takes about 45 minutes for one picture. I upload one picture at a time.

nostalgicford ......................
It sounds like your pictures are way too big. You will have re-size them to no more than 800 pixals wide to load onto Fordbarn. Under "IMAGE SIZE", change to 800. Fordbarn does not tell you this. It will just hang up. Good luck, MIKE |

Re: 1929 Model AA 2speed lever
The dual high was operated with a rocker-arm-like assembly, and shifted with your foot. These were used prior to Ford coming out with the 4-speed trans.

Re: 1929 Model AA 2speed lever
Since it has a 4-speed it looks like the front foot rocker pedal would have hit the transmission
so they took it off and put that lever so it would clear the transmission case. Bob |
