Default Serial number location

Do the 33/34 BB trucks have their serial numbers stamped on the frame, left side in front of the cowl as the passenger and commercial vehicles do?

Wonder why Ford changed in 1935 to just stamping the frame in one location on trucks?

That practice of a single engine number stamping on the frame of the trucks dates back to at least the '32 model year and includes the commercial vehicle frames as well. That was the Dearborn mandate issued to the assembly plants according to Ford's archives, but exceptions abound.

Hey David,
That '40 1/2t I'd restored had the numbers stamped into the frame rail in three places.

Aren't 1/2 ton pickups classified as commercial? The BBs 51s etc. as trucks?
