Default Vintage Tire Pump Replacement Parts

I have an old tire pump with a 1 3/8" cylinder. Can anyone point me to a supplier of replacement parts?

Don't ya just take it apart, and cut the leather off of an old show and wedge it between the piston flanges? Soak the leather in old motor oil after it's on.

shew01,

I see that tire pump rebuild kits are available from Lang’s,
at www.modeltford.com you will have to check if the diameter
of the replacement parts will work for you.

I had my hopes up on that link, but my cylinder is 1 3/8”. That site is 1.25” if I recall correctly.

Default Vintage Tire Pump Replacement Parts

Bratton’s sells the hose and some clamps, but not the leather cup. I may end up having to find a shoe and do some trial and error work. Maybe Goodwill will have some cheap shoes I can buy and cut up. I was hoping for an easier solution.

Use leather from a harness shop or a thick belt. Is Tandy Leather business still around?

Try your local shoe repair or custom leather shop, maybe a saddle shop.

Yes, that is what I found on Amazon. I don't know what happened to the link that I posted, but it went funky somehow.

That leather cup on Amazon has the correct outer diameter, but the hole in the middle is way too big.

This looks more like the correct fit: https://www.familyhardware.com/produ...RoC2r4QAvD_BwE

But it is sold only in large quantities.

If you have to make your own, go to a Hobby Lobby and buy some leather kit that would have the amount of soft leather to make a new one.
