Default Help me advance

Hi all, Here is another question for your consideration. On my Y block the load o mattic distributor needs a spark control valve type carburetor. Does my 8BA 41 pickup need this type of carb as well? The carb on it now has the vacuum port for the dist. but no place for a spark control valve.
As always I appreciate your wisdom, Tim

If the carburetor does not have provision for a spark control valve it will run fine without one. The spark control valve is a later update to the "Load-a-Matic" system. I have posted this before, but it should be mandatory reading for anyone running one of these : https://fordsix.com/ci/Loadomatic.html. It explains how the system works, including the spark valve.
