e-brake carrier
Good morning,
Does anyone have pictures or comments of the different types/styles of the e-brake carrier <parking brake> ? Is there a early type ? I have 2 different carriers on the same car ! Thank you, Mike |

Mike:
There are at least two types. There are pictures in the Restoration Guidelines. I prefer the later type with little ears to keep the emergency shoe from wandering. Used ones are readily available for not much money. Vic |

Re: e-brake carrier
Also, the early style carrier had a single thickness stop tab for the parking brake, while the later style had a second plate riveted to the original plate, for a double thickness. My 28 with the original single thickness stop tab was torn and curled inward for a good 1/2". I had to straighten it and weld it.
Here's a 1930 left rear showing the double thickness stopping block and the rounded tabs to help hold the band in place. Last edited by Tom Wesenberg; 12-21-2014 at 08:54 PM. |

My 28 carrier would be the same as this picture, except it would be a single thickness tab for the parking brake band stopping block. |
