It will work. Some of the in-line fuse holders loose conductivity after a while. A little electrical grease will help, available at any hardware store. Same is true with the usual fuse holder that is normally used.

"A little electrical grease will help" Most common electrical grease is non conductive and is used a moisture barrier. The connection still relies on metal to metal contact between the parts. If they are are loose, the electrical grease is not going to help.

Just a little question on the pix in the OP, please. Not to criticize, but want too learn... is the battery cable side lug (flag terminal) and cable routing like original? It sure looks neat.
