Restoration guidelines for 1950 Ford convertible
I need assistance. Before I start my high point restoration on my 1950 Convertible, can anyone help with locating reference material? I am looking for a comprehensive manual or some sort, with lots lots of pics and spec for an original factory restoration of my vehicle.
I have a similar book for my Model A restoration, from the Model A club of America and wonder if anyone offers a comparable publication for the 1950 Ford. Search on the net hasn't revealed anything. Can anyone assist? Surely there must be some written material (guidelines), if not, how does your average person, preparing for a stock restoration, end up with a quality restoration? Thanks guys and gals for any assistance. Bill Vancouver, BC, Canada |

I'd start with a green bible.

There is a restoration manual for the shoebox Fords available from the Early Ford V-8 club. Lots of info for about $30. Bob L

Re: Restoration guidelines for 1950 Ford convertible
The good news is that there's lots of info and support (parts) for these cars.
Here's a builders guide: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/t...-guide.296506/ Also, there's a shoebox hambers forum: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/s...x-hambers.112/ And, whatever you do go to shoebox central and look around the web site. Chris is the man for these cars. http://shoebox-central.com/ |
