Arrow Question on 6v to 12 volt conversion

My existing-setup ….wire from ignition switch runs to the original Ford resistor on inside firewall then to the + side of the coil. I’m using a new Beru German 3.3 ohm VW coil so no external resistor is needed.
My question, is this setup correct or should I eliminate the original Ford resistor .

3 ohm thru the coil is sufficient resistance in itself. Resistor should be by-passed.

Thanks, Jay. That’s what I’ll do.
