Yes it will stop leaks but get it on the rims and it will cause RUST big time, then you will have to remove the tire sand the rim and repaint it. I would run from it. I used it once in my lawn tractor and regreted it, never again.

I don't mean to be gross, but I check for valve core leaks by spitting on my finger and wiping the spit across the tire valve stem. It works like soap. If there is the tiniest slow leak, a bubble will soon appear. Have diagnosed at least a hundred farm tubes, Model A tubes this way.

Park the car so the valve is in the top position pointing down. Remove valve cap and submerge the valve in a full glass of water you lift up to it.
As a kid I was taught to put a bit of spittle on the end of my finger to put on the end of the valve stem to check for leaks. Works every time, no need to position the wheel in any specific orientation.
Betcha a gazillion others do the same.

I would not recommend this stuff. It just makes a mess and makes it impossible to patch the tube if you want to at a later date. And NEVER use it in a modern tire. It plugs up the valve stem sensor and your dash indicates a flat tire all the time (if so equipped).

SLIME is for Tubes only. If you are going to replace a tube due to slow leaks anyway, what would be the problem with using it?
