Default body mounting issue

I am mounting my 29 Tudor body on the frame. I put the splash apron first then mounting block. Should the wood block be that thick that there is a gap between the rails and splash apron? Seems to me the wood to thick as it sits across the body. Any help would be great.

the wood blocks get mounted up in the body, there are rubber pads that attaches to the bottom of the blocks. if done right they should only hold the body up about 5/16" off the splash aprons.
