Default hood shelves

Are the repop hood shelves any good? Should I try finding originals for my tudor or go with new ones?

Look for originals. Reproduction shelves require modifications to fit. You can spend a few hours restoring originals knowing that they will fit, instead of spending money and having to make modifications and cuts. Keep in mind you need to look for a matched set as there are four different ones used in 1928-29.

looking for originals is sound advice, if you can find them, have the time and ability to restore them, etc. I bought an original set off of E-Bay and not until they arrived did I find that one was full of rust pinholes and dents....these parts apparently took a beating somehow. I merely used them as a model to alter the repros.

if you do decide to go with repros, they appear to me to be made from a '28 design, or in any event you will have to trim the front edges of surplus metal, which I did with a Dremel cut-off wheel. Originals had practically no lip on the front edges for several inches.
