Default 2 speed fordomatic

Am going to do some work on my trans and read a few articles that the fluid filter needs to be only washed out and not replaced. Any thoughts?

I'd expect the procedure to be described in a Shop manual or Motor's manual that covers the year of the transmission.

If you're going to pull the pan anyway, then I guess it will answer the question. It would be nice to know ahead of time though.

I have a '60 FOMOCO manual and after a lot of searching I found out to just wash out. Thanks for the info.
