Default Step #1 for fixing my wipers! Identification

I have a 1931 Coupe with no wiper motor. These were included in a box with it. Is the lower one what the coupe would have used?
If so, any idea what the other two are for? Perhaps they could be barter material for what I need?
Thank you in advance

RG&JS page 20-9 Revised 1997

The lower one is a TR-C1A which would be correct for all closed models from March 1930 to EOP.

The other two are not Model A, have no idea what they would fit.

You have what is referred to an NORS, New Old Replacement Stock, which was provided after the vehicles were assembled and production had ceased on the original parts. The main clue is the cover snaps on the one in your photo and the originals the cover was held on with two small screws. See sketches below from RG&JS page 20-9 Revised 1997.

My cover is held on by two screws, but I am less interested in originality than in having a functional wiper. I will investigate further. Thanks to all

the snapon cover is post war kcx1 no circle and better to use for a rebuild

the two screw cover is pre war original style rcx1 w/ round circle and trademarks
not as good to use for rebuilding.

if you call fickens wiper service he wants nothing to do with the pre war orignal style and will only rebuild the post war units

Just my luck. Whichever is hardest to work with, or get parts for, will be the one I have!

Unless you're going to compete for points at a Model A event, just paint it and get some RainEx in case it rains, on the way to the event.

I do use Rainex but still just want a working wiper. I don't care if it is correct or not. Off to the swap meet forum.

Functional in what way? You can get them to move back and forth but they are almost useless for removing the rain.

Have you tried it yet?

Even if it isn't working right now, many times it just needs lubrication on the vane and mechanism under the cover held on by 2 screws.

Mine had two inches of travel. The experts here on the forum said to disconnect the vacuum line and blow a little 3n1 oil into it. I did and it works like new.

What is the differance between a motor that has the 2 screws on the cover and the one that snaps, I thought the internals were the same.

For one thing the internal air passages are smaller on the original wiper. The later one with more air flow is stronger.

I've thought about trying to modify an original to improve it but don't know if it's possible.
