Default Float a Mount

I have a Hobby member that would like me to install float a mount kit in his Model A. This has a slightly modified 4 cylinder engine with Ranger truck transmission with 4th being overdrive. The rear of trans is mounted with a couple of brackets solid to the cross member. I have read the thread on F.A.M mounts and agree they would help cut down on vibration. I believe the trans is supported because of the way the adapter is mounted between the bell and the trans. What are your thoughts? Thanks, Tom

Check out other threads about a similar setup with the Ford F150 4 speed tranny installation. That tranny weighs approx 2x a stock Model A box and is supported by a custom tang/ rubber pad ( the rear support from the FAM kit doesn't fit) on the crossmember with the stock or FAM motor mounts. The FAM's if installed properly with the tang should allow ample clearance to the service brake rod and radiator crank hole alignment. There is discussion whether the FAM'S give enough support especially if the rubber (neoprene, etc.) donuts are worn. The new replacements are very firm , and the preferred newer metal (Not alum) kits are possibly less prone to fatigue.
