Default Two rare 33-34 accessories?

A EFV8 guy in SD contacted me about these two 33-34 items, if I knew anything about them, and I do not, so posting here to see if anyone has information on them, such as authorized or unauthorized, who made them etc.

I like the speedometer, almost has a European touch to it. Thanks

The instrument panel is early '34 and fairly rare. It originally had a painted or wood grained finish (standard/deluxe) and was used in conjunction with leftover '33 dash panels until the excess was used up and the common one-piece '34 combined dash and instrument panel was adopted. It is about 1/4" larger all around than a '33 instrument panel and overlays the edges of the opening the '33 type dash panel. Notice that the attachment tabs are inset rather than at the perimeter like a '33 instrument panel insert.

Noting unusual about this Instrument Insert and Speedo.
DavidG and cas3 correctly identified it as early 1934 Ford.
This is the Early 1934 Instrument Insert and Speedo on my Australian 1934 Ford.

Looks like some other kind of a needle was installed on that speedometer.

The Speedo and Needle have never been changed on the car in the previous Post.
This photo is of a late production Australian 1934 Ford. You can see that the Instrument panel that houses the gauges is part of the Dash Panel on this car, not loose like in the previous photo of the Early 1934 Ford.
Notice that the Needle is exactly the same as on the Early 1934 Ford.
Maybe, this style of Needle was unique to Australian 1934 Fords?

OP's Gauge

Interesting needle, different from both mercmans aussie speedo and deuce lovers euro speedo.

You can't beat that price tag!

That 1933 Ford Speedo has the same shape Needle as the two 1934 Fords pictured above?

I have worked on many instruments and gauges over the years and suspect that the red and white speedo pointer is not original to that gauge and has been fitted during a repair or just for the fancy looks of it. The needle does look European or German in design but the gauge is in MPH and not metric. The needle is also an incorrect fit being too long and over reaching the diameter of the dial markers. Several different companies built these 33-34 speedometers for Ford including Waltham, Stewart Warner and AC Delco. Needle not original in my opinion. Regards, Kevin.

.

One more interesting note that I see. The SIX mounting tabs on the dash insert SEEM to match (spacing-wise) the 6 holes seen on the back side of this 1933 dash on the PASSENGER-side where the glove box door is located. I wonder IF Trevor's (Mercman From Oz) "RIGHT HAND DRIVE" dash could POSSIBLY be a '33 dash with two empty holes like the one pictured below. DD

Back side of Right Hand Drive 1933 Ford Dash. It appears that the same stamping was suitable for RHD and LHD, as the inner attachments for the Instruments and Glove Box Lid appear to be the same?

The '33-early '34 dashes are interchangeable, LHD and RHD. All the necessary holes are in both, including for the dash light switch. The one exception is the phaeton/roadster dash as one version of it with a spot-welded dash light socket is on the left or right side accordingly. Those with non-spot-welded light sockets are completely interchangeable.

Front view of RHD 1933 Ford Dash. A previous owner has cut a round hole in turned section, which is a real pity.
