Default Seeking Info on Welting under Visor on 30 Tudor

Hello A Gang, The JS says precious little about the welting found under the visor on the closed cars, only that all closed cars with painted visors had one, and that it was painted the upper body color ( Page 13-8). There is no mention of diameter, or material, etc. I think it was made with left over roof rubber, originally, being about 1/2 inch in diameter...I am curious if more info been found about this in recent years? Thanks as always for your kind advise! Kev

Kev, On a '30 Tudor the welting that goes between the header cover and header, that butts up against the visor is the same as the fender welting. A smaller welting (3/16" dia) is used for the gas tank and where the front fender attaches at the spalsh apron and running board.

I've been wondering the same thing. The only reference to this feature are two sentences in the last paragraph Area 13. Very vague. Since it's painted it would be difficult to add it after the fact. It's missing on my truck and the judges caught it in San Diego.

Is this welting sandwiched between the wooden header and the front header cover, or is it sandwiched between the header and the visor ?
