Default 1933 1/2 ton panel delivery

I just saw this on CL Seattle. No affiliation. I know it has a long ways to go, but having a title, original seats, engine etc, it seems a worthy project. Somebody save this from the blue flame butchers, the air baggers, the rat rodders and the candy apple red metalflakers...... (then I won't have to) I see some really hideous 'projects' for sale on CL for twice the money and more.

Ok, cornbinder rear fenders..... 'Rusty ol' floorboards, hot on their feet' (Alan Jackson)

Like so many projects, this one would cost a lot of money, take a lot of time and before ya knew it, you'd be underwater. If it was a particular type of vehicle I just had to have that's one thing. I sold my tonner panel last year because it had such poor visibility it was unnerving backing up anywhere in town. One time I pulled up in front of a store in town and backing out I blocked both lanes before my drivers window let me look to the side and see what was going on. Thought it might be interesting to others as '32 -'36 fords have always been desireable. But.... It's been on there for 4 weeks.

GB,
I completly understand. So many new toys pop up everyday! I always say they could give you the item along with some money and it would still be costly! It doesnt take long to get a large pile of cash and time into a project like that. As you say it needs to be something you really want to do and have! Most of us are not into fliping them. My guess it would not be very finacialy feasiable to come out ahead often??
Regards,
Chris

I'm surprised that has not sold yet. Perhaps a sign of our sinking economy.

The clear title is worth the asking price to someone building a hot rod. IMO
Glad its not closer or my '54 Ranch Wagon project would get delayed even more.

Unstated is the condition of the extensive wood work that exists behind all of that sheet metal. That often is the death knell for era panel trucks.

They DO have these guys that will pick it up and drop it off in front of your shop. Just sayin'....... ( insert 'little devil on your shoulder meme )

I was impressed with the body mounting flange on the rear fender that has moved away from the body. Maybe Pete can enlarge the other 3 photos from the ad. Mr. Hoovie, you there?

Side shields of hood have more louvers than my truck!
The cab to body angle does not look great!

Chris

Definitely the wood is the hidden gremlin in those old panel trucks. Strictly a project for a master woodworker.

I don't think there's any woodworking that GB Sisson can't handle...

If I had been born rich, instead of so good looking, and I were 60 years younger, I'd be right on that one. Wouldn't that be beautiful, restored !!!!

IF I wasn't as far as one could possibly be, geographically speaking, and still be on the same Terra fir-ma as the panel, I'd take my stab at it!!!! BUT the distance and effort makes it cost prohibitive for me!!!

Folks,
That truck needs some serious Ford Barn love! Thanks for the picture of the back too. A tractor restorer in the UK always said "If it casts a shadow it can be restored". That unit casts a big shadow! But can someone bring it back??? Bob, you could have it home before Christmas!
Regards,
Chris

Chris, weighing in on your comment about coming out ahead financially, I've come to the point where even if you got this one for free, you'll still be underwater once you start the restoration and find you need to buy this and that!! Seems like buyers of our vintage...speaking only for myself....are becoming fewer! I'm watching prices coming down as demand wanes!!

It looks like something I would haul home.
I came home from a swap meet with a Model T front axle when I was 12years old ...
From that day on,,I had a Model T......that was 62 years ago ...
