I've bought them from various suppliers and they all were of reasonable quality. The best I had when I was building my sedan delivery Steve/IL obtained some 32 bumpers that had not been drilled or chromed, that allowed us to make a correct delivery rear bumper. I have one really nice one left. I have suspected for some time that many of today's bumpers all come from the same place?

Paul Ezra in Indiana was the first to make them, but that was a long, long time ago. Likely Karl Wescott knows who makes them now as they are in his catalog. The are also in the Drake catalog, but noted as "unavailable".

United Pacific is the latest supplier, now out of stock, but I expect they will run more in the near future.

From what I have observed, United Pacific is usually pretty conscientious about its reproductions. How do their bumpers rate compared to the Ezra reproductions? Did they reproduce the small end knuckle version or the large end knuckle version (many don't realize that there were indeed two original versions)?

United Pacific's are the large knuckle version (Ezra/Metal Fab Engineering's were the small knuckle version). I have sold only a few but have heard nothing bad (or good for that matter). I expect if there were any significant issues there would be much howling both on Fordbarn and the HAMB.

You can repair just about anything if you want to spend the time and money to do it. Sometimes it's just not worth saving.

Based on my knowledge, thus far, on 32 bumpers, yours appears to be an original small knuckle bumper. Finding the right welder/welding rod for the original spring type steel used would be the key for a successful weld, you also would be best to have the chrome removed before doing so, as I am sure you already know!!!

If you need bumpers I would call around to the various V-8 vendors to see if anyone has some on the shelf. Try All Ford Parts in Campbell, Ca. to start and then go to the Early Ford Store in San Dimas, Ca. Also try CW Moss in Orange Ca. and then try some of the east coast vendors like Third Gen Automotive or Joe's Antique Auto in New York.
