Default 1950 Ford Heater hose connections

My 50 has four (4) hose connections on the passenger side firewall. I'm not sure I have the hoses connected in the right order. If you can tell me where the one from the water pump and cylinder head go then I know the remaining two are connected together. A picture would be great if possible. Thanks in advance for any and all replies.

One hose should go to the heater core and one hose to the control valve, the "u" hose goes between the valve and heater core. If the heater works it's probably right.

The hose from the head should go to the valve, then valve to heater core then core to water pump.

See attached picture.

From the cylinder head to the passenger side of the control valve. From the drivers side of the control valve to the lower fitting on the heater core. From the upper fitting on the heater core to the water pump. This is also the way the coolant flows.

Good job Dan, I was going out to my shop and uncove mine. I've seen several plumbed different than mine, It shouldn't matter which way the water passes through the heater core as long as it flows.

I believe the heater core is plumbed this way to aide purging the air out of the heater core.

Here's a not so good picture from the "green bible".

Dan is right. Water has to flow from bottom up to keep the core full all the time.
