Latest is a good 59A engine from a '37 Ford - [chev V8 now]. Ran the eng with a rebuilt dist from Charlie-he says Hi to all. Cleaned up the flywheel, and found a 10" diaphram P Plate new, also a Ford 10' nos disc. Warmed the disc to remove any moisture from time. Noticed the flywheel had wear from a 9.5" and a 10" disc. Also the '34 transmission had some clearance grinding in the bellhousing, for the 10"?? Hope it all clears when together. thoughts ?? Really want to get the chassis done this Winter, Painter has scheduled cab-et all for Dec. Newc

Ok; Spent this week installing a 59ab with a '38 trans set up as an early V8. One belt and a '39 std generator [fan type]. Changing the belt will still require lifting the eng, even with the Mercury mount adapters. 10" clutch required the use of a '37 up [78] trans case. Next- new gas tank and better hydraulic lines and that setup. Body goes to painter in Dec. Newc

Man that is coming along nicely! Thank you for the updates and pictures! Must be nice to start fresh like that and build up a car or truck! Lot of work but you can get to the items much better as you assembly things.

Looks to have a well massaged (lowered)rear crossmember with the curved spring & closed drive retained as well.

Regarding the chassis paint: Industrial Black, but might not be available anymore due to environmental concerns.

Five years ago, my painter did my '36 half-ton with it when I requested my frame to be painted black, saying to me that Industrial Black will soon be history. He blasted the chassis, primed the chassis, then two coats of Industrial Black. It looked brand new.

I had a 34 PU back in the early 60's. Had juice brakes on it when I got it, but I put the 59A in. Other than that the rest was stock. Had it for several years as my daily driver. Wish I had it back

Up date! Just installed modern gas tank. Cab + parts still in 'Painter's Jail' battery and radiator next. Will visit painter Tuesday! Since Dec in his shop. Newc

Do you know anything about the trans? I've got an orig '33 coupe w/the 'swan' floor shift as well. Thank you

Had one of those back in the late 50s. Stock except for the 59A and juce braked, was my daily driver. Sold or traded it for something else. Bad move!!

Got some help today and finally put the cab on the chassis. A real bit of progress, and set up for the Winter work. The wood mount kit needed some fine tuning, but it worked. Don't expect those repro wood mounts to be perfect. Enjoy fellows -photos
