Default 1949 ford flathead v8

On a wiring diagram for a 49 & 50 Ford, there is something where wires run to something called a Hydro motor. What is it?

Bob is correct. Hydro-E- Lectric is a company that deals with convertible top motors including early Ford.

49-51 Merc. top motors are located inside the driver side fender panel.
I think Ford is the same. They look similar to a starter motor.

I'm not a converible owner but pretty sure the hydraulic pump/motor is on driver's side firewall on 49-50 Fords. It's pretty hard to miss. Should also be some hydraulic lines going across the firewall for this pump.

I bought a very solid '48 Buick Super convertible out of Montana once. It had a power top, power windows, a power seat, and a lot of missing paint.

Hydraulic windows and seat were optional on Mercury and Lincoln cars.
