There’s Business Coupe and Club Coupe. Business = no back seat and fixed rear windows. May only come in Deluxe Trim. Club Coupe = has a back seat and rear windows open like vent windows. I believe it comes in Deluxe and Custom Deluxe trim. I’m sure there’s more .........Mark

In1958 I got out of the U.S. Army, and bought a 6 cylinder, 1951 ford business coupe. Someone had installed a back seat, but the quarter windows were still the fixed type. It was a good car that I wish that I still owned.

A business coupe and a club coupe are pretty much the same car. The club coupe will have quarter windows that open up and a back seat. My father has a '51 business coupe with a V8 that he bought from the original owner. The guy was a WW2 vet and very frugal so he waited until '52 to buy the car. It came with no back seat, and no stainless trim on the back window rubber or around the windshield. It had no side trim on the body either but the original owner wanted side trim so he bought new '49 style side trim and installed it on the car. He then shortened the flat platform that the factory had screwed to the floor behind the driver's seat and crafted his own back seat. I've found a complete set of club coupe rear windows complete with garnish moulding that I plan to eventually install in the car along with a set of stainless moulding for the windshield and rear window. Someday it will become a club coupe after all!
