Default Fasteners

What type of fastener is used on a 49 Ford parking brake cable where it goes into the firewall?

Are you referring to how the cable is fastened to the handle? The cable isn't fastened at the firewall as far as I know. It should just have a rubber grommet. The cable just fits into a slot where the ball end fitting is retained in the operating rod portion of the brake handle assembly.
