Beautiful Ford Easter Egg
I picked up this yesterday in Lakeland, Florida.
It has been donated to The EFV-8 Foundation Museum. 1938 Ford Custom DeLuxe Four Door Sedan How appropriate for Easter 👋 Jim |

Re: Beautiful Ford Easter Egg
Beautiful looking car. I'd swap the headlights back to stock (you can even get repro parts to do that these days, maybe they fit well...). I wonder if it goes on display or gets sold to raise funds for the foundation?
38s in good shape drive so nicely. |

Re: Beautiful Ford Easter Egg
I agree with 39 coupe, nice looking car, but the headlight conversion really hurts the looks!

Re: Beautiful Ford Easter Egg
That is really a very nice looking car. But regarding the color, I will be glad when Easter is over.

Beautiful Ford Easter Egg
The car was restored to be a driver & the sealed headlights are a practical considerations given that the car is located in Florida.
I love the color. Jim |

Re: Beautiful Ford Easter Egg
At an advanced age we live in black and white, the colors of earlier times are sometimes shocking. Looks to be a very nice car. I know we can all nit pik it to death but it's a very nice gesture to the foundation. Wish I had something as nice out in the barn.

Beautiful Ford Easter Egg
Miss Candy & Pat Fenner of Ohio went down from
Lakeland, Florida to pick this up with a trailer. Then they brought it up & stored it in a neighbor’s garage until I picked it up yesterday. Jim |

Great looking car 👍. You sure got an awesome job Jim. You are blessed to be able to see(transport) these old vehicles and meet the good folks who own them.

Re: Beautiful Ford Easter Egg
I thought when you said this was an Easter egg it was going to be a street rod with some weird wiggly stripes down the side and multiple colors. Looks like a clean car. You might not like the color I guess but, it looks like a clean straight original looking car. You could always sand it down to primer and clearcoat it... yikes. Like it, I wouldn't mind owning it.
If you are familiar with Florida and colors, they like bright colors and 50-60s florida art deco design. Just a florida thing. My ex father-in-law had a pink 55 2 door. Sweet car. With that said, I painted my truck black. hahaha. . Last edited by Tinker; 03-28-2021 at 12:16 AM. |

Re: Beautiful Ford Easter Egg
Just about every one of these I saw when I was a kid (late '50's - early '60's) must have had the conversion units installed and I thought that was the way they came from the factory. These cars were DD's back then so I guess it was a logical move back then.
I also have to agree that they look way better with the originals. I think the conversion units contributed a lot to the "ugly duckling" opinion of these cars back in those days. |
