Default Re: Coker ridiculous shipping charges??

2935ford.....here in Quebec....we have to pay both taxes...but....it always depends on who is serving at that time...I always highlight the purchase price and not the added shipping cost. Different rules for different customs folks??

On Coker, dealing with them for the past 25+ years...tires are not always as you would expect. The initial WW radials they sold had defects, where the side wall feel apart....not fun on a road trip and having to buy and change two tires ( that fell apart within miles of each other....loosing the entire day going to a show, etc....and when I complained and exchanged them for newer one under their guarantee...I had to pay the 5 - 10% wear....not much money, but in principle, I was insulted on the trouble and money it caused me. Cheap buggers...this is how you treat customers. On bias ply tires, they are never perfect...always issues...not significant...but, always something there. And yes, on a pair of 590-15 BFG tires, one of the WW is very yellow and cannot even sand it out. They do not take responsibility for that either..it's always us that are doing something wrong.....BUT...they are there for our tire needs. Wonder if they are made in ____??

I'm on my third set of B.F. Goodrich Silvertown 3½" WW 6.00-16 bias plies sold by Coker but the last set bought from Summit Racing (because no shipping charge). Of those 16 tires I have only had one go out of round. Emailed a video of it to Coker who sent me a new tire with return label for the old one. Did charge for mileage use I got out of it up to it going out of round but that's fair. Was very satisfied with their service and product. Only switched to Summit because of their free shipping.

I live in Atlanta, just 1.5 hours south of Coker in Chattanooga, TN. I can't say their tire prices with shipping are high but I did find it to be cheaper for them to ship the tires to me rather than pick them up to pay the tax on the purchase.
