Default fuel in intake

I've painted/coated the exhaust and intake manifolds as well as installed a rebuilt/reman carb from a reputable supplier. Firing up the car, I realized my manifold gaskets weren't seated properly allowing for a noticeable exhaust leak. When I pulled the gaskets, I could see raw fuel puddled in the intake runners and noticed the gaskets were wet at the intake ports.

Is it expected that much fuel in the intake, or do I need to make carb adjustments?

Read your spark plugs, black sooty to much fuel, white to little fuel. Over choking on start up would also wetness, I pull the choke for a couple of turns and release.

If you have not run the engine for more than a few minutes you will see raw gasoline. A cold engine will not vaporize the fuel and there is raw gasoline that flows along the walls of the intake manifold, the reason you need a rich mixture for starting a cold engine. After the engine is well warmed up the gasoline is vaporized by the heat transferred from the exhaust manifold to the intake manifold.

After the engine is well warmed up and has been driven for a while, drive the car into the garage or a parking spot and shut the engine down before it has a chance to idle and then read the plugs as Big Hammer suggested.
