Default 49 woodie sans wood

Getting the panels changed from mahogany to figured maple on my hot rod 49 with 302 mustang v8. I wood grained the inside window trim figured maple. Panels will be changed to figured maple as well. You have to remove the inside window trim to get the lower panels off.
49s and early 50s had wood on the tailgate. Someone told me the window trim wood grained really makes the interior of the shoebox woodies. After graining it I have to agree.

That really looks great. Question, what is "Figured Maple"?

Beautiful job. That wagon looks to be in excellent condition!

Ok, I figured it had to do with the grain but wasn't sure.
Thanks
