The Tony Hilyard video on YOUTUBE is excellent on timing a Model A. Check your timing and point gap. I had the same problem and found that my point was set too large...my mistake. Once someone looked over my shoulder I never set the point gap incorrectly again. SO three things: check the timing; check the point gap; replace the condenser.
