lots of over-heating problems on the '32 V-8 - notoriously so. Even my '34 had had its engine later replaced with a 39LB.

The video said it had an oil problem on turns that required a new design of oil pan with revised baffles.

It always seems that any new product goes through some issues right at first.

They had tons of problems with the complex casting required..heres a list of oral histories from the people involved at the time..fascinating reading.

The overheating problems were because the water pumps in the head lowered the water pressure and boiling point.

Pumps in the block about mid 1936 raised the pressure.

I would guess at altitude and a head pump water would boil at well below 200 F.
