To save me re-inventing the wheel is there somewhere a bilbiography of books ( in print and particularly out of print) with a Ford Model A interest?

Hello John, there has been a tremendous amount of information published for the Model A Ford. This is what makes this antique car one of the most popular to restore. Much of this information is just a repeat of what came before and many of the pictures are not so good being dark black and white. But lately some very good work has been done and I would recommend the following:
1. Model A Restoration Guidelines & Judging Standards
2. Model A Ford Mechanics Handbook Vol.s I & II
3. Model A Ford Trouble Shooting & Diagnostics
4. Zenith Model A Carburetor Restoration Guidelines by Steve Pargeter and Restoring
the Model A and B Carburetors the Rex Reheis Way.
5. The Model A Service Bulletins, a copy of all service bulletins sent to Ford Dealers in
the Model A era. It documents the many changes throughout production.
5. Paint and Finish Guide (this has Model A Ford paint chips)

After you have the above, just buy what you like. As I said if you are looking for pictures, get books where all the pictures are in color. Black and white pictures are poor.

Welcome to the hobby. I have owned Model A Ford since 1964 and I look forward to the next opportunity I will get into one of my cars. Ed

Places to look are the vendors who have book sections. For out-of-print check places like Amazon or eBay and search for "Model A Ford." I am not sure what is available to you in the UK but you get the idea. Used book stores may be another place to look.

Here is one list of Ford Model A and B books: https://cse.google.com/cse?cx=013752...1nwhzg&q=books

Oh yes, I know there are many ... that's why I wondered if someone had got so bored or was such a bookworm that they had compiled a complete list ... someone must be as anorakish as me surely though on second thoughts perhaps not

So I learned a new word today. Anorakish: (UK, informal) Obsessively absorbed in a subject, especially an unusual or obscure subject. That is one thing I am not.

MARC has a descent list (compiled by Steve Plucker) on their website. Here's the link:
https://model-a-ford.org/top-page-1/...nuals-listing/

If that does not work, then you can see the list directly on Steve Plucker's website (.pdf file) at this link: http://www.plucks329s.org/pdf/studies/ModelABooks.pdf

"FORD NEWS, October 1927 through 1931.
These bulletins were a series of publications which came out twice a month on about the 1st and the 15th of each month through March 1931. Starting with the April 1931 edition, the Ford News was published once every month thereafter. Issues were sent to Ford dealers throughout the world and could be made available for a subscription price of fifty cents a year or about $0.02 for each copy and $0.04 starting with the April 1931 issue. In addition to this, special binders to store copies of the Ford News in could have been had for $1.25 each."

There were a lot of local stories added here. Some fairly politically incorrect these days.
