Help with finding the right oil pressure switch
In my stock 52 8RT/8AB I need to replace the oil pressure switch and this is the only one I'm finding, and it does not say what pressure it's for 80 or 50 psi. OIL PRESSURE SWITCH - SKU#:Motorcraft SW-1547B
Does anyone has a part number for the 80 psi one,or are they one in the same for motor? Last edited by Doug-F1; 04-25-2016 at 05:35 PM. Reason: word change |

Re: Help to finding the right oil pressure switch
What engine do you have? I don't think that is the correct unit, that is for a later model vehicle.
From VanPelt site: Sender Units - Oil Pressure 41A-9278 is 80psi Last edited by JSeery; 04-24-2016 at 03:55 PM. |

Re: Help to finding the right oil pressure switch
Mac's has it and there is also one on Ebay for $100!

Re: Help to finding the right oil pressure switch
The motor is the original Ford, 8AB/8RT Flathead 239 cubic inch.
It looks to me that the 41A-9278 is what I am looking for. Thanks for the help |

I say it should be 0 40 80. I been through a dozen senders and none match my mechanical gauge Ex.- my mechanical gauge reads 45# hot and dash units reads below 30#. So back to the cabinet. I try a sender that I know was from a 1970s Dodge 318 / 360. Perfect: now the dash gauge reads between 30 & 80 ( 0 30 * 80) I have no part no. or the box for this sender but its not like the Ford or hat, its almost 3 inches tall same tread but nut instead of screw for the wire. sam 239 CID |
