'30 coupe hood bracket?
This is probably a dumb question but, how do I get the hood off properly? In the Les Andrews book it shows two nuts and lock washers holding the rear support backet on. Is this only for the '28-'29? It shows it under the cowl lip in the book. I can't see or feel any nuts under where the screws hold that bracket it on. Is it threaded into the cowl on a '30?

Re: '30 coupe hood bracket?
The rear bracket is held on by two screws backed by D nuts. I believe they are 12/32.

Re: '30 coupe hood bracket?
Just remove the screws & the bracket & hood, then you can see the "D" shaped nuts that are permanently installed in the body. Bill W.

Re: '30 coupe hood bracket?
D nuts fit into a D shaped hole to keep the nut from turning, and the thin lip on one end of the D nut is bent over to keep the nut locked in the hole.

Re: '30 coupe hood bracket?
Clarification:
Just listen, the "CAGED" nut sings, the "D" nut only knows one "NOTE"! (Like, ding, ding, ding!) Buster T.
