1931 Victoria
I need (2) door lock striker plates for a 1931 Victoria. Is this a unique part for the Victoria and A-400 or can I use one of the more common striker plates for Model A's.

They were used in some form on all slant windows and are unique to them. Later cars use variations of the parts. Do not rely on parts houses as A&L and the other repro maker were using too strong a spring and they did NOT function. A&L corrected this problem and should be selling ones that will function. The key is the pot metal sliders MUST slide easily with moderate pressure by one finger. Feel your originals if you have enough left. The heavy springs you can barely move with a lot of finger force. The purpose of the dovetails are to keep the door in place up and down and should not prevent the door from closing easily. The male dovetails are made by A&L and are great. The screw they send do not have the correct head. With a file, a battery drill, some sandpaper and a buffer you can fix that. |
