39 ford brake anchor pin removal help
Wanting to remove the front brake shoes on a 1939 Ford Std. and need to know how the anchor pins at the bottom of the shoe come out. I have removed the two nuts on the back but don't know if they are pressed in or screw out. Also I have been told that the short shoe goes to the rear, is this correct? Thanks John

Re: 39 ford brake anchor pin removal help
Just tap then pins through from the back to the front.
Look out for the special washers that sit in the round holes in the shoes. Yes, long shoe to the front. Large end of cylinder to the front, too. Mart. |

With the drum off, I would suggest you practice turning the pins aligning the dots on the pins to see how the adjustment is obtained and how the eccentric movement actually moves the shoes in and out. Be sure to read this thread and all the links within it. https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showt...ake+adjustment Last edited by 19Fordy; 07-24-2021 at 01:37 PM. |
