Default 1952 f1....3 on the tree

Question,my three speed on the tree.....was there a bend in the shifter or was it caused by the previous owner? It seems like it hit the dash trim at one time!!

Without seeing your shifter, I can't rule out a bent one. There is a bend in them right at the base. Adjusting the linkage rods at the trans allows the position of the shifter to be changed somewhat. Maybe it got banged against the dash during a clutch job, when the rods were disconnected?

It could have also been bent during an accident when the driver had his hand on the shifter. They did not come close to the dash when they were new.
