Default Mallory Distributor

The 1931 Model A that I just purchased as a Dual Point Mallory Distributor installed. I want to install the factory Model A distributor. Can someone give me a hint as to the value of this distributor.

I paid $125 for a good black cap (YA 11A) dual point at San Diego and thought I got a good deal.

If yours is one of the earlier ones with the brown bakelite cap then I would have thought double that

Hey Denny !
Just sold A/B Mallory (pictured) for $275.
Can you give us a picture of your dist ?

Hm, pic will not upload

If pics come thru, this 'dual' point Mallory, which was used by Mallory for 8 and 4 cyl engines, is a duplicate to the one that I just sold. Is yours like this. Was dual point, now single points.

Depends on if the distributor is an old one or a newer one. The antique (YA11a) might be worth a little more to a hot rodder interested in vintage speed equipment. a new one is available new for about $250-$300 I believe.

Are parts such as points, caps, advance springs and rotors still available new for the Mallory Type YA11?

I also have a Mallory YA11 Distributor with dual points and centrifugal advance. I was running it on the Model "B" engine in my Coupe with some other speed goodies, but I took YA off because parts were hard to find and very expensive.

I would like to know if there are any parts out there also. Contact Bubba's ignition and they should give an idea about parts and cost of rebuilding. Eventually I will have them rebuild my antique one.
