Default Can i use a 1941 frame for a 1940 Ford?

I'm still looking for a well priced rolling frame for a 1940 ford pickup project. I found a 1941 Ford Tudor sedan, but understand it has a 114" wheel base to the 112" of 1940. Is this a possible switch?
thanks

In my experience, they are two different animals. In my world of non stock vehicles, 35-40 Ford car or pickup will work with minor modifications. Keep looking ….

To add some, generally, 35 to 40 frames are the same....with some differences, body mounts, front crossmembers, but do able as the main rails remain the same. 41 is quite different. A 41 pickup frame, however is a 35 to 40 frame I believe. Any one agree?

"cas3" is correct .....1941 PICK-UP chassis is the ONLY '41 chassis that is like the '40 Ford chassis. A 1941 passenger car chassis is a totally & completely different chassis....won't work! DD

1936 Chassis (Same as 1940)

The 1941 commercial or pickup frame was changed mid year to accept the new 6-cylinder G-series engines as well as the V8 by a change of the front cross member. The 1941 passenger cars were an all new design that is closer to the 42 thru 48 design than the earlier design but they are truly in a world of there own.

Don't forget the 1941 Ford Sedan Delivery also used the 35 to 40 style frame.

In addition the forward (closest to the front of the frame) body mount is NOT used for the 40-41 ford pickups on the rearmost mount is used Plus there is a wooden spacer/member used to mount the pickup bed and if memory serves me it is also used for the cab mounting bolts.

The 41 Ford pickup frame is the same as a 40. They are the same for a car minus the outriggers.

If you find a 41 Ford pickup frame, I believe the 4-cyl front crossmember (which was available in 41) is different - deeper I think - and that might not be a good choice.

It was some time mid production when the front cross member was changed to fit both the new G-series 6-cylinder and the V8 for the 1941 pickup. They tried the 9N tractor type engine for a while but most customers walked right on by.
