Horn rod straightness
In his restoration book, Pearson says that a bent horn rod is practically worthless. Mine had a sweep in it when removed. My efforts to straighten it by hand made changes, but not perfection. The rod slides easily to the bottom of the steering shaft. I am confident I can make a jig to restore the perfect straightness, but why is perfection so critical?

Re: Horn rod straightness
So it doesn't turn the light switch when turning the steering wheel.

Russell, they can be straightened much in the same process as straightening an arrow. |
