Default Shackle pin, heads up

Recently bought and installed a set of 51A-5713 rear shackle pins in the '40. These were Ford script, USA. They measured anywhere from .753 to .756 OD, and I believe the variance in OD was what appeared to be galvanize plating. It was so thick on the .756 ones that the nut would not thread on the shackle stud. I have not seen galvanizing on any of the shackle pins I have used before, so this was new to me. The lesson learned here was check the OD on each one, and if needed, take a little of the galvanize off, and by all means, before you install them, run a nut on the shackle threads. It was tough to run a die over the threads once they were in the spring perch.
