Re: Posting pictures
I used to use "PAINT" and it worked good. Then I got Windows 10 that has "upgraded" "PAINT-3D". It took me about an hour to figure out how to use that, and everytime I do, I have to spend a bit of time re-figuring it out again.
Progress? Bah! |

Re: Posting pictures
Tubman, I agree with trying to use Paint 3D. I still have the old version of Paint also on my PC for some reason, so I use it when I want to resize the files. The old Paint software is in the Windows Accessories file on my PC. At least I know how to reduce file size on that software.

Re: Posting pictures
Here it is written out. You can print this out and use it every time you want to load a picture
1. Click on "Start a New Thread" (as you usually do) 2. Put in your message as you usually do 3. Click on either the paper clip on the menu bar at the top or click on "Manage Attachments" further down (under Additional Options). A pop up window will come up - click on browse 4. Go to your computer and find the pic you want to load, click on it and then click on"Open". Title of picture will then show up after "browse". This is for a PC - don't know if MAC is different. If you have more than one pic, hit the second "Browse" For each pic you have to hit the next "Browse" 5. Click on "Upload" - title will show up under "Current Attachments" 6. Click on "Close this window". You will see the pic title in "Manage Attachments" 7. Click on "Submit New Thread" - Your done Procedure is the same if replying

Re: Posting pictures
I've used a free program for many years and it works great, 32bit for older Windows and 64 for newer.
https://www.irfanview.com/64bit.htm Get the plugins too. https://www.irfanview.com/plugins.htm For a Mac look here (XnView is good): https://formac.informer.com/irfanview |

Re: Posting pictures
Thanks for all your help fellows, but I do not have all those fancy programs on my computer. I'll manage somehow. I'll get my oldest Granddaughter to help me.
she is a computer Whizz.

Re: Posting pictures
Almost any version of Windows has Paint. The fancy programs you are referring to are things you would have to add to your computer. They have nice features, but to just resize a photo they are not required.

Re: Posting pictures
A possible solution ....
How about one of the guys volunteering to help Lawson? Lawson can post his ad, then email the photos to this volunteer. The volunteer can log onto Ford Barn using Lawson's password and add the photos ... plus any other tweaking. (Lawson's password probably has something to do with gnats. Like "gnatbait" or similar. He mentions the "gnat line" in his location. If you don't know what it is ... it's really fascinating.)

Cool idea, Hoop! I've stuck it out through this thread with Lawson, posing suggestions and trying to send messages of encouragement in MY own demented way. All we seem to get in return have been excuses and reasons not to try to work this out. I'll be happy to help Lawson compose his ad and post his pictures if he wants. All he has to do is contact me via PM, and we can work-out the details and logistics via e-mails. But after we get his parts posted, I also want him to work with me to learn these reasonably-simple picture posting procedures for his future pleasure. PM me, Lawson! I promise not to bite. DD |

Re: Posting pictures
You might want to start a new thread and post the photos there. They could get lost to potential responders under this thread title.

Re: Posting pictures
Its the resizing that is a problem. I have never been able to do that. If the posting device had a automatic resizer, that would be the trick.

Re: Posting pictures
Jim, how are you attempting to resize the files? It shouldn't be that difficult, see if some of us can walk you through that part. What computer software are you using?
