Default 1938 Deluxe vs 1939 Std Grille

Can anyone tell me if the 1939 Standard Grille will fit the front-end of a 1938 Deluxe car? I know there are some differences in the stainless trim, but primarily concerned about the curvature and fitment. Thanks.

They are he same shape and will fit; the 39 has holes for stainless on the bars; 38 has stainless down each side

Here is a comparison picture of a 1938 Ford Deluxe Coupe and a 1939 Ford Standard Coupe.
Notice that the have the same front sheet metal, including the Grilles, but look at the back section, the 1939 models got a complete make-over.
The lower added Stainless Steel Trim is missing on the 1939 model

Here are close-up pictures of these two different model Ford Grilles - 1938 Ford Deluxe and 1939 Ford Standard.
I hope that these pictures help you in your research.

The removable side panels under the hoods of the 1938 Ford Deluxe and 1939 Ford Standard is where the biggest difference is.
Compare these two pictures.

I don’t see the trim difference in post 3 other than the trunk handle.

Look where the top flows (or doesn't in the case of a '38) into the rear deck area.

When I was a callow youth, I thought '40 DeLuxes were the cat's ass. I went through puberty and came to the conclusion that '39 DeLuxes (and to a lesser extent, '40 standards) were the best. After looking at some of these pictures, I am gaining a new appreciation for '38 DeLuxes and '39 Standards.

Tim, the 38 has trailing teardrop rear fenders, while the 39’s are bobbed short.
The 38 coupe’s roofline is unique.

Well, ALMOST unique! '37 coupe roof is identical to '38 coupe roof. But I know YOU knew that. DD

2 roofs for 37/38,

Deluxe and standard coupe (Business 3 seater)
Deluxe Club Coupe (6 seater)

In the Australian built 37/38 club coupes they were available as both standard and deluxe both based on the 37 body. The business coupes were not made for commercial sale.
