1937 Fender welting
I'm still trying to figure how the front fender welting goes on 1937 passenger front fenders. Specifically how is the welting held on the fender top between the grill and the body, under the hood side panels. Anyone have a photo of this area with the hood sides removed ? Would the fender bolts go thru the welting ? 37 book no help. If it's under the fender lip the bead would be to the inside. I know the welting goes between the grille and fender to the top of grille. Thanks for any help. Zeke
Fenders ready to go, what a @%$#&%# buffing around the headlight peaks and valley.

Re: 1937 Fender welting
At the grill-fender junction the bolts that hold it together along with 2 or 3 nails to top of grill. Then from top front of fender to where the fender leaves the body just before the running board. Held in with the bolts through the welting. Welting, fender, non-beaded welting, inner fender.

Re: 1937 Fender welting
So the big headed bolts go thru the welting to hold it on.

Yes. For the tabs on the fenders that position the side hood don't waste money buying sleeves from Mac's. Go to a bike shop and get a to be thrown away tube and cut to length. A few lengths will do the job and not fail after a year or less.
