Default Jump 6 volt system with 12 volt portable jumper

Is there a 12 to 6 volt reducer that can handle the amps of a portable 12 volt jumper. Jumping with a 12 volts will blow the gauges and and motors. I am buying a 54 Ford automatic and there is no pushing this car to pop start it.

You can use 12 volts but just for the starter. To run the car a 6 volt is necessary. You must hook the 12 volt directly to starter.

On my 52 Merc I put the 12 volt booster cable to the starter side of the solenoid. Ideally you want somebody in the drivers seat to work the gas pedal and choke but I managed to do it myself. Soon as you touch that solenoid terminal with the booster cable the starter will turn (fast). I have not had to do that since I got everything tuned up as it starts fine on six volts.
