I have a T-85 O.D. tranny out of a '58 big block Ford. I would sell it. However, I remember talking overdrives with a guy who had a '56 T-Bird and he told me the tailshafts on the T-bird T-85s are different where the governor and the solenoid mount to give more clearance because of the lowness of the T-Bird.
Don't know that for a fact but he seemed to know what he was talking about and he had no reason to tell me that except for my own info.

Also the t85 required a special rear transmission mount only used on the 56 t-bird. Frank
