Default They aren't 'patina rods'

Here's my ford truck lineup. I found the AA two weeks ago, and that's what prompted me to get back on the Fordbarn. I am an active poster on the FTE ford truck enthusiasts site, but they aren't real heavy into the A. The patina on 3 of these trucks is authentic, while the 47 2 ton is a work in progress. It was total surface rust, about like the '28, but I wanted to make it a bit prettier without doing a total restoration. Not sure what the AA will end up like, but for now it needs to be on the back burner while I complete my '47. I have 5 good dry parking spots, so I'm thinking I need a '51 or '52 F4, to represent that body style. Oh, and the '59 9' flareside has a cummins 6at 6 cyl turbo diesel from a ups truck. Smaller than what goes into a dodge, with a GM sm465 4 speed.

hi, i have a question. i have a steering column and wheel (exc shape) that we detrermined was from 30's. from the hub out the wheel is identical to later model a. my question: there is a lite sw rod similar to A, and that is inside another rod, or tube that turned and controlled something. do you know what that was for. of course, the steering shaft is considerably larger than model a car. falters site indicated this wheel and likely column was used thru the 30's. thanx, roger

I will look at the '37 tomorrow. It is quite complete. I think the AA is missing the switch, so I won't know what to compare it to. Maybe I can take a photo. Thank you guys for all the nice comments. I have had a great time over many years owning and fixing old Ford trucks. It is in my blood. My grandfather, Benjamin Burliegh Sisson Ran 'Sissons Garage' in Wareham Mass. They were the Ford Dealership just north of Cape Cod in the 20's. He died in '28 when my dad was one year old. I have always wondered if he ever saw an A. All the old pics and records show just Model Ts. My grandma sold the business to the Suddard family who I think still owns it to this day. My dad sold insurance and could never start his lawnmower(rest his soul), so I always had to do it for him. I think this thing might skip a generation.......
