What is best material for loosing a stuck engine?

Opinions will vary, but a 50/50 mixture of acetone and ATF poured into the cylinders and allowed to soak, is a good method for.....freeing up a stuck engine.

use atf and kerosene or diesel, acetone evaporates to fast

Valves can stick an engine too so make sure to apply what ever penitrant is used to cylinders and valve train. Heat the pistons and let them cool down several times if you have a way to do that without starting a fire. I've had to use hole saws and drill holes in the piston top to break them out when they get too stuck to move, If a person uses too much pounding force on a badly corroded piston, it can damage the cylinder wall. |
