Default 8.8 rear end into 1951 Ford Coupe?

I have access to a free 1994/95 Mustang GT rear end.
I understand the width is 1.5 inches greater.
I am not interested in any other type rear end.
What would be required to install this rear end into my 1951 Ford Coupe?
Moving perches etc?
Thanks for the help and replies.

I have a stock rear end in my '51 Ford. It is wide enough itself so that 225/75R15 tires occasionally scrape on the fenders (going uphill around a sharp corner). I have to believe an extra 1 1/2" would cause a real problem.

215/75R15 are close to the original 6.70X15's in size and would probably still be a problem with that rear end.

95 mustang is coils, links and panard. Best is to sell that and get a ford ranger that’s ready for leafs. Or cut everything off the mustang housing and weld on perches and shock mounts or shock mounts on the spring pad. Other things is drive shaft end changed. New ends for the park brakes and a match the master cylinder to the new brakes if that’s needed. You will need wheels with an offset to suit your wheel track . My son is running 195/65-14 on his using ranger wheels. You will need to carry 2 spares one 5x4.5 for the rear and one to fit the front or do a hub and spindle swap on the front to get the 5x4.5 on there assuming your mustang is not a 4 lug

I put a 8" from a Maverick in my '54 Ranch Wagon and it was a perfect width. But since you said you only wanted an 8.8, 1990 to 1992 Ford Rangers had an 8.8 that was 56 1/2" wide. All that would be needed would be to move the perches. JMO

Hey guys; I put the rear end from a 1999 mercury mountaineer in my '48 merc, the rear track on my '48 is 60" and the mountaineer is 59.5". It also came with disc brakes and limited slip. So look around they're pretty plentiful and the way to tell is to spin one tire and if the other spins in the same direction, Bingo, limited slip. Just my 2 cents (adjusted for inflation) tom

With the mountaineer the park brake is a bit of work to get it rigged up. Just need to make a body mount plate for the head of the cable shield and join the cable to your existing cable if you want to keep the original pull handle or use the mountaineer foot pedal and all the mountaineer park brake setup.
The foot pedal is the easiest to setup the pull handle will need a fulcrum/ratio bar unless you are Hercules.
