Default 28 special coupe headliner

Can someone please take a picture of their headliner in their 28/29 special coupe? I just got one from Lebaron Bonney and the tack strips are one bow off and the directions provided say how to install however my original bows have tack holes in different bows. I looked on youtube and saw coupes that are the same location as mine. I think L.B is incorrect. My car is un-restored so I have no reason to believe my car is incorrect. I will be contacting them first thing in the morning.

Thanks for your help. Marc

I restored a 28 special coupe a few years ago and installed a Classtique upholstery kit. I just took some pictures of the headliner. I had to install it twice, as the first time I didn't install the cardboard retainers high enough on the bows and they showed through the headliner (a slight bulge). The first seem/attach point is about 18 1/2" from the header. The second seem/attach point is about 34" to 35" from the header. Hope this helps.

Thank you Rusty. That is exactly what I needed. I am going to forward these pictures to them when I return the headliner. They were very receptive to my problem and will correct it however I wonder if anyone else who got a headliner from them experienced the same issue. Their tack strips are right above the door post and on the rear most top bow.

My friend did a coupe last year and LB asked for a drawing of the bow placement dimensions before sending the kit, all fit perfect.

I gave them the same. It will work the way they stitched it but the stiching is on the wrong bows. The first strip from the header is at the door post on the L.B headliner. As Rusty's photo shows the strip is in the window opening some. As far as turning it, I thought of that however the tack strips are still too close together.

I have heard that a number of people have retired or just left LB. I wonder if that is the reason there seems to be more problems with their products lately. Experience counts! Classtique was also sold several years ago. I hope when I order my 29 CCPU upholstery kit from them, it is made correctly. My 28 special coupe upholstery kit from Classtique was pretty good when I installed it 4 or 5 years ago. There was a fair amount of trimming required, but I suspect all the kits need fitting.
